The “la Caixa” Foundation has selected a project led by CABIMER and the University of Seville under the CaixaResearch Health 2025 call in the field of Neuroscience. The project aims to identify and evaluate potential therapeutic targets in glial cells for the treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The project is led by Cintia Roodveldt, a researcher at CABIMER and professor at the University of Seville, in collaboration with Daniel Rico, a CSIC researcher at CABIMER, and Abraham Acevedo from the Canary Islands Health Research Institute. The team will use innovative approaches to identify signalling pathways in glial cells and assess their potential as therapeutic targets for ALS, with the goal of advancing new treatment strategies for this devastating neurodegenerative disease.
