Description

The DECODE project investigates how cell-based therapies protect the brain in children with brain tumors treated with radiotherapy, with the goal of preventing or reducing treatment-associated cognitive decline. In particular, it focuses on uncovering the immune mechanisms, especially involving the complement system, through which cellular products exert neuroprotective effects against radiation-induced brain inflammation and damage, ultimately aiming to improve long-term neurocognitive outcomes in pediatric cancer survivors.
